As a young girl, I used to listen to country music with my dad after supper. I remember Hank Williams, Loretta Lynn, Patsy Cline and other fine musicians. When I grew older, being the youngest child, I pretty much stayed home and listened to the radio from the time I got home from school until I heard my momma telling me to "turn that dern thing off and go to sleep!"

Music to me touches the soul. It's there when no one else is. I think it can speak to you, help you understand your feelings and emotions. It can also bring joy and happiness and make you dance your legs off! But mostly, I think music should always be shared, used as a bonding force. I know as a teacher, I have enjoyed the various types of music from the 80s - present that my students have gotten me to listen to and appreciate. I thank them for that!
